Née en avril 2009, elle se développe grâce à une vidéothèque en ligne diffusée sur les réseau sociaux, en s'appliquant à suivre et à montrer le travail d'artistes vidéastes. Dans la continuité de son travail éditorial, la  Vidéothèque organise aussi des projections cinématographiques".

Synopsis:

"The story is built around two sites. A hotel room, and the stage of a theatre, where, through visual transpositions in the two places, time set in images produces impressions, interstices in films that accompany the thoughts of a playwright and a narrative".

« Interstices - Solution de continuité » will be shown at the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe

Alain Bisotti gave us this Carte Blanche to create a video for the the operation Photo d’Hôtel, Photo d’Auteur.
The video will be shown at the Gémier and Serreau studios in the Odéon-Théâtre de l’Europe, Place de l’Odéon, in Paris.

We have been doing work together since 1997, and have developed joint experience and practice. Our work roves through the crossroads and over the borders of photography and video.

We have been involved in joint research on diptychs, which each of us has developed in a series of photos, « Intérieurs » (Interiors) and « Sols » (Grounds). These were undertaken respectively in 1988 and 1990, working around the physical separation of the images on the negative film.

Our diptychs introduce action and time, prefiguring our videos. The work on diptychs involves more than duality, a movement between dual images and a transient emptiness. Two images are the beginning of a sequence, a fraction of 24 images per second. Two photos also symbolise the leap from one work to the next.

The sequence of photos is used as a substitute for a video recording, and brings another perception of time.

Synopsis
The story is built around two sites. A hotel room, and the stage of a theatre, where, through visual transpositions in the two places, time set in images produces impressions, interstices in films that accompany the thoughts of a playwright and a narrative.
The playwright and narrator relates the discourse and the succession of events that constitute the writing of a play. He sketches the characters, their interrelations, evokes the surroundings. He associates the locations with the stage configuration, works on the articulation of what precedes the text and what follows. The video shows the locations, with no identification between images and narrative. The video editing and the narrator’s voice produce short-circuits, holes in the narrative, gaps between what is seen and what is heard, proposing a fictional sensorial perception of the emerging narrative.

Installation

The video, in pal DVD format, will be projected on a 2,30 x 3,00 metre screen. Photographic prints of two sequences of the video will also be exhibited.
